Susan Fuerstenberg , Ph.D.
President and Chief Operating Officer
Susan
I. Fuerstenberg, Ph.D., is President and Chief Operating Officer of Genome
Project Solutions, Inc. She holds a Ph.D. in Botany from the University
of Minnesota, where her research and training emphasized molecular
biology and genome evolution of plants. She also holds an M.S. in Biological
Sciences from Northern
Illinois University and a B.A. in Biology from Saint
Mary’s College (now University). She was previously a Senior
Scientist with the Anawah Corporation where she was first the Director
of the Production DNA Extraction and Analysis Division and later the Director
of Wheat and Grass Genomics Research. Dr. Fuerstenberg has authored many
high profile scientific publications and several successful grant applications.
She was the recipient of the prestigious NSF/Sloan Postdoctoral Research
Fellowship in Molecular Evolution, which she tenured at the University
of Michigan, the University
of California Berkeley, and the USDA
Plant Gene Expression Center in Albany. Dr. Fuerstenberg has broad
experience both in academia and in industry, including both the production
and R & D environments.
